I am a writer living in Richmond, Virginia, where this blog was born in April 2020. It began as a way to send good words into the world at a time when our collective discouragement had reached a fevered pitch.
My goals as a writer are the same as my goals as a wife, mother, daughter, and friend: to point to the source of all strength and courage (God in Christ), to wrestle with the practical application of Biblical truths in ordinary life, and to share encouragement on the sometimes arduous path to spiritual maturity.
Through the blog, I explore the intersection of Biblical faith and everyday life through topics like friendship, caregiving, emotions, parenting, suffering, adoption, work, marriage, and more. Using stories from my life, I am honest about working out my faith, seeking to know God more, and learning to rely more on Him in all things.
Also, on the website, I offer a Good Book List of books that are inspiring, edifying, or encouraging, because the world needs more good words. I also share gratitude calendars and other resources to help you on the Christian pilgrimage.
Finally, because I love to explore the created world, I sometimes share tales of travel adventures, including stories from six months I spent living in Sweden with my family.
I hope my essays and stories stoke your curiosity about God and Jesus, fan the flames of your spirit, and encourage you.
Thank you for reading!
